Brittany Herrington is the Peer Program Coordinator for Pathways in Ashland, Ky and the Project Coordinator for the First Day Forward program, established by the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program – Implementation II grant. She has 9 years’ experience working in the behavioral health field including two years working with the Department of Community Based Services START Team.  Brittany currently coordinates Peer Support Services for all 10 counties that Pathways serves and is responsible for certifying new hires. Brittany, herself, is in long term recovery from a serious drug and alcohol addiction and works daily to advocate for people like her.  “First Day Forward is the ultimate passion project for me,” Brittany said. “Having navigated reentry with a sincere desire to get sober and with little direction, I know firsthand how challenging it can be.”
