Matthew Porter is from Morehead, Kentucky. He attended Morehead State University and majored in English and philosophy, and he graduated with a BA in 2018. The following semester, he enrolled in MSU’s graduate program in English, and in 2020 graduated with a MA.

Matthew has held positions in several fields, including education, agriculture, and library sciences. He joined the Northeast AHEC in September 2022 as an Educational Assistant for Health Careers Promotion. In February 2023, he accepted the role of Outreach Services Coordinator with the NE AHEC. He has been married to his wife, Denise, since 2023. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, playing music and board games, and spending time with his three cats.

Fun fact: Matthew holds a second-degree black belt in Tang Soo Do.
