Rowan County Judge Executive Harry Clark has officially declared September 2025 as Recovery Month in Rowan County. The announcement was made at Recovery Rowan County, the county’s Recovery Community Organization (RCO).
The one-year, $100,000 project will assess substance use stigma among key professionals across northeastern Kentucky.
The $100,000 Rural Health Network Development Planning grant will enable eight partner organizations to administer surveys and conduct focus groups targeted toward clinics, hospitals, schools/universities, and recovery centers.
In partnership with the Gateway District Department of Health, St. Claire Medical Center was awarded a $90,000 CDC Foundation Grant. Northeast Kentucky Area Health Education Centers Director David A. Gross will spearhead the initiative as project director.
The Northeast Kentucky Area Health Education Center (NE KY AHEC) is one of seven centers across the nation that will receive federal funding intended to support workforce development programs that prepare young people and help them access good-paying careers.

St. Claire HealthCare, on behalf of the Northeast Kentucky Substance Use Response Coalition, is pleased to announce they have been awarded a $300,000 Core Priorities Grant by the Pallottine Foundation of Huntington, West Virginia. The Coalition was selected because of its grant-funded projects and partnerships focused on addressing substance use disorders within 18 northeastern Kentucky counties.
