Northeast Substance Use Response Coalition recognized as an RCORP Champion

July 17, 2023

The Northeast Substance Use Response Coalition was recognized at the Rural Communities Health Connections Summit in Washington, DC, as an RCORP Champion. Implementation II & III Project Director KaSandra Hanshaw; and Implementation IV Project Director Carla Terry spoke to over 700 other grantees from 48 states and 3 territories on the work being done through the RCORP Implementations grants in our region.

Also pictured from the grant team are Coalition Director Luke Stapleton; Outreach Services Coordinator Matthew Porter; and Data Coordinator Katie Allen.

Champions were nominated by their Project Officers, and subsequently through a vote with all Project Officers and Technical Expert Leads, as well as RCORP office leadership. Nominees were voted on based on the following:

  • Innovative Approaches
  • New Products and Ideas
  • Ability to Overcome Challenges
  • Quantitative Accomplishment and Impacts
  • Replicable Efforts

This is the first time RCORP has nominated and recognized grantees for this award. We are very honored to be recognized among the first-ever group of Champions and thankful to our Project Officers for nominating us for this award! We are excited to get back to Northeastern Kentucky and continue this work.
